It's nice to cook together! Before starting the cooking process, make sure to keep your child away from fire and boiling foods.
Water at a temperature of 60 degrees Celsius can cause a third-degree burn in an adult within 1-5 seconds. A child's sensitive skin could be scalded in less than a second. Such a short duration leaves little opportunity to escape a severe burn.
Remember to keep children away from areas with hot fluids, the oven, and stovetops, especially when they are in use. Place pots, utensils with boiling water, and any heating appliances far from the edge of countertops and out of children's reach. Long electrical cords can also be dangerous as children might pull them. When cooking, position the cooking utensils on the back burners and turn the handles of pots and pans towards the wall. Be cautious of overheating food in the microwave and avoid holding hot beverages while carrying your child in your arms.
