Gynecological Oncology Unit

Tumors originating from the female reproductive system include uterine cancer, cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, bladder tumors, and urethral tumors.

Every year, many women are diagnosed with tumors originating from the female reproductive system. The treatment for these different tumors is complex and typically involves various combinations of treatments (surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, biological therapies, etc.). In recent years, there have been significant developments in the field, which now allow for significantly improved outcomes in the treatment of these tumors, but they also require highly professional treatment with expertise in various therapeutic areas.

To meet the needs of our patients, the oncology gynecology unit works in full and close collaboration with the surgical team in the gynecological department, with each doctor specializing in their specific area. We also consult and make decisions with experts in genetics, pathologists, radiologists, nurses, and a wide range of pre-medical staff.

In the oncology gynecology unit, experienced oncologists with extensive professional knowledge provide comprehensive care for patients diagnosed with female reproductive system tumors. The treatment provided is the best and most up-to-date, throughout the entire journey, with an emphasis on symptom management and maintaining the quality of life for the patients. A coordinating nurse for female reproductive system tumors actively operates in the unit to enable the highest level of follow-up and care.

Additionally, there is direct and close cooperation with the supportive care unit, allowing the provision of the best treatment at different stages of the disease. The unit collaborates with the genetics department and also with the BRCA clinic (for BRCA carriers) both before diagnosis, with the aim of reducing the incidence of gynecological tumors, and after diagnosis, to improve individualized patient care.

The unit plays an active role in international research related to the treatment of female reproductive system tumors.
