Manometry is a pressure measurement test. The test is designed to measure the pressure in a hollow organ space, its movement, and its sensitivity, in order to understand the organ's function and its ability to cope with food digestion or elimination.
Two common tests are known: gastric manometry and anorectal manometry (manometry of the anus and rectum).
