The Breast Surgery Unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center provides the highest standards of care for patients with breast cancer and other related diseases and is one of the leading units in the country. While officially part of the Surgical Wing, the unit offers a multi-disciplinary approach with experts in oncology, pathology, genetics and more. The Breast Health Center emphasizes both the level of medical proficiency and the patient's wellbeing, with personal support through all stages of the diagnosis, treatments and monitoring, including a direct and immediate line of contact to the treating team.
SZMC also offers a unique clinic for women who were diagnosed as carriers of the BRCA gene mutation. The NOGA Clinic concentrates under one roof all the medical disciplines necessary for an effective monitoring of the carrier - genetics, gynecology, breast surgery and imaging. Over the course of just one day the women undergo all necessary tests and examinations. This is the only clinic of its kind in Israel and women from all over the country are treated here. The clinic is run by Dr. Pnina Mor, PhD, a midwife who wrote her doctoral thesis about the needs of BRCA mutation carriers.
