The first days after birth are an initial opportunity for mother and baby to bond.
You can choose the accommodation arrangement you would like for yourself and your baby while you are hospitalized:
1.Full rooming; zero separation
2.Flexible rooming
3.No rooming at all
No matter which option you choose, the staff is ready to provide assistance and advice on all aspects of your new role as mother, from full training on breastfeeding to the general care of the baby at home (even after leaving the hospital).

The ward has spacious inpatient rooms, up to 53 inpatient beds, up to 3 beds in a room. In each room there are comfortable nursing chairs, personal drawers, a bathroom and a shower. The baby can be with the mother during the day, except during treatment hours in the baby room and at night. You can choose flexible rooming (overnight stay) in which the baby is treated in the neonatal ward and stays with the mother as she wishes, including during the night.
The infants are treated at the nurseries that are attached to the maternity wards, or at the innovative NICU if needed.
At the disposal of the new mother are dressing gowns, towels, regular pads and frozen pads to relieve stitches, a kitchenette with a cold water dispenser, a hot drinking area and a refrigerator where you can store personal food items, as well as a detailed instruction booklet for the care of you and your baby (must be asked from the nurse).
Do not get off your bed by yourself for the first time after delivery. Please call the nurse (using a designated call botton at your bed) to help you off your bed for the first time. Call bottons are also installed in every bathroom. If you don't feel well, experiencing intensive bleeding or other pains, don't hesitate to call the nurse immediately.
Each mother receives individual and group instruction in many subjects that meet her needs at any given moment. Acquiring knowledge and skills in training for primary parenting and baby care, breastfeeding training, providing explanations related to operations, tests and treatments.
The nursing staff includes academic nurses, midwives and lactation consultants who are here for the mother and at her service.

Maternity ward C in Shaare Zedek is a full rooming in ward
Shaare Zedek Medical Center has adopted the recommendations of the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health to allow the mother and baby to stay together from the moment of birth onwards.
The mother and the newborn are admitted to the ward together, and the mother is present at all the treatments and tests that are performed on the newborn during hospitalization.
The department has spacious inpatient rooms, up to 18 inpatient beds, in each room 2 mothers and their babies are hospitalized.
In each room there are comfortable nursing chairs, personal drawers, a bathroom and a shower. The rooms are equipped in a comfortable way that allows feeding, treatment, tests and guidance in the maternity room.

Maternity ward D allows you to choose your preferred type: full rooming and zero separation - in maternity D1 \maternity D, flexible rooming or no rooming at all.
The department has spacious inpatient rooms, up to 42 inpatient beds, there are many types of rooms, some with up to 2 inpatient beds and some with up to 3 beds.
Maternity D1 Unit within Maternity Ward D is a full-Rooming in department - which has spacious inpatient rooms, up to 18 inpatient beds, in each room 2 midwives are hospitalized with their baby and there are 2 single inpatient rooms.
