Biopsy of soft tissue masses is a highly safe procedure. Before the procedure, the patient undergoes blood tests. No additional preparation is required from the patient, and there is no need to fast before the procedure.
During the procedure, the patient lies on a bed in the ultrasound facility, and with a sterile technique and local anesthesia of the area, a small needle is inserted into the mass to obtain very small tissue samples, which are then sent for pathological examination. The patient is discharged after the procedure.
